Main Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- ¼ cup Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon Ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Vegan butter, cold and cubed
- ½ cup Molasses
- ¼ cup Non-dairy milk
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
Add the cold, cubed vegan butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
In a small bowl, whisk together the molasses and non-dairy milk. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
