  • 2 cups precooked cornmeal (masarepa)
  • 2.5 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a patty.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the arepas for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
