Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1.5 cups water

Filling

  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten each portion into a disc.
  3. Place a spoonful of refried beans and cheese in the center of each disc. Fold the edges over the filling and flatten again.
  4. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook each pupusa for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
