Main Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ⅓ cup lukewarm milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pearl sugar
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the eggs and yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
Gradually add the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat your waffle iron. Gently fold the pearl sugar into the dough.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Cook each portion in the preheated waffle iron until golden brown and caramelized, about 3-5 minutes per waffle.
Serve warm and enjoy!
