Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 3 medium carrots peeled and sliced
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 large onion peeled and halved
  • 1 bunch dill tied together
  • 1 bunch parsley tied together
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 8 cups water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with water.
  2. 2. Bring to a boil and skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  3. 3. Add the carrots, celery, onion, dill, and parsley to the pot.
  4. 4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. 5. Reduce heat and simmer for about 90 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  6. 6. Remove the chicken and vegetables from the pot. Strain the broth if desired.
  7. 7. Serve hot, with pieces of chicken and vegetables in each bowl.
