Main Ingredients
- 1 cup split peas
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 medium carrots chopped
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme dried
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add a splash of vegetable broth and sauté the onions and garlic until softened.
2. Add the carrots, celery, split peas, thyme, salt, pepper, and the remaining vegetable broth. Stir well.
3. Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to manual high pressure for 15 minutes.
4. Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
5. Open the lid, stir the soup, and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
