Main Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Warm milk
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
- ½ cup Warm water
1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
2. Add warm milk, flour, salt, and baking powder to the yeast mixture. Whisk until smooth.
3. Cover the bowl and let the batter rest for 1 hour.
4. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and grease the crumpet rings.
5. Pour batter into the rings and cook until bubbles form on the surface. Remove the rings and flip the crumpets to cook the other side.
6. Serve warm with butter and jam.
