Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 clove Garlic halved
  • 1 cup Dry white wine
  • 8 oz Gruyère cheese shredded
  • 8 oz Emmental cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Kirsch optional
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg grated
  • 1 pinch Black pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic halves, then discard the garlic.
  2. Pour the wine into the pot and heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Gradually add the cheeses, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the lemon juice, then stir into the cheese mixture.
  5. Add the kirsch, nutmeg, and pepper. Continue to cook, stirring, until thickened and smooth.
  6. Serve with bread cubes, vegetables, or other dippables.
