Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chickpeas (cooked or canned)
  • 1 large Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch Ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Water as needed
  • 1 handful Cilantro (chopped) for garnish

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, and sauté for another minute.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add chickpeas and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Stir in garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
