  • 1 cup beer cold
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 fillets white fish such as cod or haddock

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually whisk in the cold beer until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels.
  5. Dip each fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. Remove fish from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
