Ingredients 

Stew Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Stew Meat cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 Carrots sliced
  • 3 Celery Stalks sliced
  • 3 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 2 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
  • 2 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add beef and cook until browned.
  2. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  4. For dumplings, mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter onto the simmering stew. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, until dumplings are cooked through.
