  • 10 apples, quartered
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 orange, quartered
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 1 nutmeg, freshly grated

Instructions 

  1. 1. Place apples, orange, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, and nutmeg in a large pot.
  2. 2. Add enough water to cover the fruit.
  3. 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours.
  4. 4. Strain the cider through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean pot.
  5. 5. Serve warm and enjoy!
